1972 Yamaha CS5 RD200 Electric
(Featured 3rd May 2014)
Sellers original description:
This bike has been garaged from new and has covered an incredible 3080 miles from new and the condition reflects this.
Absolutely everything is factory original and unmolested - the original toolkit is also present under the tank / seat area.
The paintwork overall is lovely - not perfect by any means and there are signs of age (chips / marks) but this is an unrestored, honest bike.
The chrome throughout is very good to excellent with no rust or pitting. The original Yamaha exhausts / silencers are present and are absolutely solid and original throughout.
She starts, runs & idles well but the carbs / fuel tap will need to be cleaned thoroughly in my opinion. Both the electric and kick starts work perfectly.
A new genuine NOS Yamaha tank cap and seal was fitted (I have the original), and a new battery has been fitted.
The tyres are both the original fitment Bridgestones and show signs of sidewall cracking so should be replaced if you plan to ride the bike regularly.
The original chain also has a tight spot from sitting for so many years so will need to be replaced.
I have the original US title and customs NOVA certificate, so once you have MOT'd the bike, getting it UK registered is a simple process and I can guide you though this.
The last bike I registered (last week in fact) took 7 days to get the V5 back from the DVLA - it saddens me to say this, but it's actually a quicker process now that the local DVLA offices have been closed.
The bike will also benefit from being tax exempt as it was manufactured in 1972 so is classed as a historic vehicle).
Very rare in this original condition & with such incredibly low mileage for a bike of this age.
