1993 Gilera GFR 125
(Featured on 9th June 2013)
Model: GFR 125
Sellers original description:
A very good example of a very rare motorcycle which I've owned since 2006. This is an old school 30 BHP sports 125 from before the learner power limit.
The odometer reads 5072 Kms. I can't guarantee this is accurate, but knowing the history of the bike it probably is.
NOTE: The fairing is a replacement German made item with a clear screen not an OEM Gilera item. You can see it has extra stickers which i didn't put on. The tank is missing the proper Gilera racing division badge and the seat lacks a 'REPLICA' badge.
The engine had the cylinder replated and a new piston (the previous owner had left an air lock in the cooling system) a few hundred miles ago. The work was done by Revs in Halesowen.
The ignition winding on the stator was rewound a couple of years ago.
Just fitted with a new chain and sprockets at MoT time, which it sailed through with no advisories. The headlight has been modified to dip vertically but the Speedo reads only in KPH.
Pirelli H rated (who needs Z rated tyres with a max speed of 100 mph and they warm up quicker) Diablo tyres just nicely scrubbed in.
It goes very well and handles beautifully. Not for the faint hearted if you are not used to an electronic power valve two stroke.
