1981 Yamaha TZ250 Grand Prix Race Bike
(Featured on 25th June 2013)
Sellers original description:
This stunning 1981 TZ250H is believed to be Kenny Irons 1982 bike, one of the greatest riders of the period - Engine stamped Ken Irons and Roger Keen (he was the top tuner of the time).
The bike has undergone a year-long full bare frame photographic restoration including: frame stripped and re-painted (not powder coat), new head bearings, new pegs, shift, brake levers, full engine re-build including fully re-built crank with new bearings and rods, new top end including pistons, all new clutch components including basket, plates, springs, ignition serviced and stator re-wound by Rex Speed shop, new plugs, new needle valves, forks re-built, new top yoke, new Lomas silencers, pipes re-painted with high temperature paint, bodywork professionally painted in period Irons scheme etc. etc. Thousands of pounds spent on new genuine Yamaha parts plus hundreds and hundreds of hours of work.
The bike has not been ridden since restoration, just started to check everything, sounds wonderful. This is nothing like the average tz which you would have to spend thousands of pounds to bring up to scratch and would still be nowhere near as good as this bike.
Eligible for many race series and events throughout the UK and Europe including CRMC or classic parades.
